Nike Kyrie 4 PE 'Day of the Dead' (Unisex) Team Orange / Black-Multi-Color Basketball Shoes CI0278 800

Kyrie Irving's fourth signature shoe, the Kyrie 4, officially debuted December 5, 2017. Benjamin Nethongkome, a newly appointed lead designer, helmed this generation’s design. He previously led the development of well-received mid-tier models such as the Kobe Mentality 2, Kobe Mamba Rage, and LeBron Witness. For the Kyrie 4, Nethongkome’s overall design philosophy was rooted first in Irving’s specific requests: the outsole needed to deliver both cushioning—achieved via a Zoom Air unit in the heel midsole—and faster, more responsive lateral cuts. The grooved outsole pattern clearly fulfills this requirement. Combined with the sole structure, this design enhances traction and responsiveness during directional changes, delivering seamless transitions.
