Tesa 4590 Glass Fiber Filament Tape 38 X 50 , For Bundling, Palletizing And Reinforcing Cartons

TESA 4590 MONO FILAMENT TAPE 38 mm x 50 m is a universal self-adhesive tape reinforced with unidirectional glass fibers laminated with a polyester film. The tape is characterized by very high longitudinal tensile strength and low elongation, making it ideal for securing loads and packaging during transport and storage.

The synthetic rubber adhesive ensures high adhesion to many types of substrates, including more difficult materials such as PE and PP, and the carrier construction guarantees tear resistance. TESA 4590 is suitable for logistics and production, as well as for everyday service applications.

Advantages and unique features

• Unidirectional glass fibers provide very high resistance to longitudinal stretching.

• Very low elongation – the tape strongly stiffens and stabilizes the tied elements.

• High-adhesive synthetic rubber adhesive, also for PE and PP.

• Excellent adhesion to solid and corrugated board and cardboard surfaces.

• Tear-resistant – the tape maintains its integrity even under heavy loads.

• Universal use: strapping, palletizing, securing, repairing, and marking.

• Convenient width of 38 mm and length of 50 m – optimal for manual and machine work.

Properties and applications

• Strapping and palletizing: strapping boxes, profiles, pipes and other elements on a pallet, securing the load against sliding.

• Cardboard sealing: reinforcing box flaps, sealing heavy or valuable shipments.

• Transport protection: additional reinforcing straps on boxes, crates, long and damage-sensitive elements.

• Service repairs: quick reinforcement and fastening of structural elements, strips, profiles or covers.

• Marking: permanent marking of cable bundles, packages or storage areas (after prior marking with a marker).

TESA 4590 tape should be stored in its original packaging, in a dry and cool place, away from sources of heat and direct sunlight. It is recommended to store it at around room temperature, in a horizontal position to avoid deformation of the rolls.

The surface should be clean, dry and degreased before application to ensure maximum adhesion and durability of the connection.

1) What is the 38 mm wide TESA 4590 tape best suited for?

It is most often used for strapping and palletizing loads, reinforcing cardboard boxes and securing heavier shipments during transport.

2) Can the tape replace classic packing tapes for heavy boxes?

Yes, thanks to its high tensile strength and low extensibility, the tape is very good at reinforcing and closing heavy boxes, especially where typical packing tape may prove insufficient.

3) What surfaces does the tape stick best to?

The synthetic rubber adhesive adheres well to most smooth and slightly rough surfaces, including cardboard, plastics (including PE and PP), metal and laminated boards.

4) Can the tape be torn off by hand?

The tape is resistant to longitudinal tearing, so it is recommended to use a knife or scissors to cut the appropriate length - this guarantees clean and straight edges.

5) Are filament tapes suitable for long-term storage of loads?

Yes, with the correct selection of the number of coils and appropriate surface preparation, TESA 4590 tape ensures stable binding of loads during transport and storage.
