To help you rediscover the charm of Japan through Tamagotchi, we've created a new, domestically exclusive series, the "Japan Edition," embodied in the refined beauty of Japan. This time, we're collaborating with Kaga Yuzen, a traditional craft from Ishikawa Prefecture! The Original Tamagotchi itself and packaging feature an original design by Kaga Yuzen artist Hitoshi Maeda, inspired by the traditional Japanese pattern of the temari. The high-quality texture of this eye-catching Original Tamagotchi is also eye-catching. *This product's programming contains some English text. *Bandai does not sell screen protectors. *Images are for illustrative purposes only. [About Kaga Yuzen] Kimono crafted in the Kanazawa area of Ishikawa Prefecture. Originating from "ume dyeing," this traditional craft has been passed down for approximately 500 years and continues to be painstakingly crafted by hand. It features a color palette based on the "Kaga Gosai" (five colors of indigo, crimson, ochre, grass, and ancient purple), as well as realistic, painterly patterns featuring floral motifs. Techniques include "mushikui," which depicts insect-eaten leaves, and "sakibokashi," which creates a three-dimensional effect. Unlike Kyo-yuzen, it rarely uses decorative finishing touches such as gold leaf, shibori, or embroidery, instead embodying the beauty of nature through delicate dyeing techniques alone. [Maida Dyeing Crafts] Working under the concept of "Inheriting skills and building new Yuzen traditions." Considering traditional crafts not as "old things" but as "a continuing accumulation of fashion that continues to the present," Maida continues to challenge itself by incorporating the essence of Kaga Yuzen into a variety of creative works beyond kimono, such as Western-style clothing, product packaging, and architectural decoration, while using traditional techniques preserved for three generations. Maida Dyeing Crafts' unique innovative methods are used to widely disseminate the appeal of Kaga Yuzen, so that both enthusiasts and non-kimono wearers can enjoy and become familiar with it.
